Homemade Vanilla Yogurt Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt with active cultures
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it on medium-high until it reaches 185°F. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching and sticking.
  2. Once the milk has reached 185°F, turn off the heat and let it cool down until it reaches 115°F.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the yogurt with 1/2 cup of the warm milk until smooth. Add the yogurt mixture to the saucepan and mix well.
  4. Add the honey and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a yogurt maker or a jar and wrap it with a towel. Let it incubate for about 8-12 hours or until it reaches your desired thickness.
  6. Once the yogurt has thickened, transfer it to a container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
