Kirsch cherries – Delicious


Recipe: Kirsch Cherries

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Directions:

  1. Wash the cherries well and remove the pits with a cherry pitter. Discard the pits and place the cherries in a large bowl.
  2. Add the sugar, Kirsch, and almond extract to the bowl and stir to combine.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
  4. When it’s time to serve the kirsch cherries, stir them gently and transfer to a serving dish with a slotted spoon. Serve immediately.
