La torta russa Recipe
Ingredients
- 500g puff pastry
- 800g ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups spinach, chopped
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
- Add the mushrooms and spinach and cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangular shape on a sheet of baking paper.
- Spread the beef mixture over the pastry, leaving a 2cm border around the edges.
- Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the beef mixture.
- Carefully fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and press them together to seal.
- Use a knife to cut a few slits in the top of the pastry to allow for steam to escape.
- Bake the torta russa for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
