Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dry milk powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, milk powder, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour warm water, warm milk, unsalted butter, and beaten egg.
  3. Mix until well combined and the dough forms a ball.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap or towel. Let it rest for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and knead for a few seconds to release the air bubbles.
  7. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and shape each part into a log.
  8. Place them in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan and cover with a towel. Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake the milk bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
