Mini Buns with Peas and Mint Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Blend the peas and mint leaves together in a food processor until it forms a paste.
  3. Mix the cumin powder, salt, and black pepper powder into the pea and mint paste.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the egg and continue to mix until well combined.
  7. Add the pea and mint paste to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  8. Gradually add the flour mixture and the milk, alternating each until everything is well incorporated.
  9. Knead the dough lightly and form small balls.
  10. Place the balls on the baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving suggestion:

Serve the mini buns hot, with a dollop of butter on top. They make an excellent side dish for any meal! You can also try serving them with a mint and yogurt dip. Enjoy!
