Mom’s Cake – Treat
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together hot water, vegetable oil, white vinegar, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add wet mixture to dry mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
