Morello Cherry Clafoutis
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh Morello cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add in the eggs one by one, whisking well after each addition.
- Gradually pour in the whole milk and vanilla extract, stirring constantly until you have a smooth batter.
- Grease a 9-inch baking dish with the unsalted butter. Arrange the pitted cherries on the bottom of the dish. Pour the batter over the cherries.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is golden brown and set. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar and a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
