Mozzarella Sticks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 12-15 Mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions:

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick in half lengthwise to make 24-30 pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, garlic powder, oregano, and paprika.
  3. In another small bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
  4. In a third bowl, place breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each piece of mozzarella cheese with the flour mixture.
  6. Dip each flour-coated mozzarella piece into the egg mixture.
  7. Then, coat each egg-coated mozzarella piece with the breadcrumbs.
  8. Place the coated cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  9. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 375°F.
  10. Carefully drop several mozzarella sticks into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  11. Remove the fried mozzarella sticks from the hot oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  12. Repeat the process with the remaining mozzarella sticks.
  13. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
