Orange Flower Madeleines
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Using cooking spray, grease two madeleine pans, or lightly butter and flour the cups.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- In another mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and orange blossom water until they are fluffy and pale yellow in colour.
- Fold in the flour mixture, then pour in the melted butter and fold it in until the batter is smooth.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine pans until each mold is about ¾ full. (Optional: refrigerate the batter for about 10-15 minutes to firm it up, this helps in keeping the hump shape in the center of madeleines while baking.)
- Bake the madeleines for about 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and spring back to the touch.
- Remove the madeleines from oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Serve and enjoy!
