Orange Fondant Gingerbread Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Spoon dollops of orange marmalade over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and enough water to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cooled cake. Let the glaze set for 10 minutes before serving.
