Oreo® Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 package of Oreo® cookies (crushed)
  • 1 container of vanilla frosting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 2 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water. Batter will be thin.
  5. Stir in crushed Oreo® cookies.
  6. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  8. Let cakes cool completely.
  9. Once cakes are cooled, spread a layer of vanilla frosting on top of one cake.
  10. Place the second cake on top of the frosted cake and spread the remainder of the frosting on top.
  11. Sprinkle crushed Oreo® cookies on top as a garnish.
  12. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
