Oriental Cakes: Moroccan Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina, flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and vegetable oil, and mix until it forms into a dough.
  3. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Form the dough into small balls and flatten them into small cakes.
  6. Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds on top of the cakes.
  7. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
