Peach Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of sliced fresh peaches (about 6-8 medium-sized peaches)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup of milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  4. Add the chilled butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your hands to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Pour the milk into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Spread the peach mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Dollop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the top of the peaches.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
