Pear and Chocolate Gratin Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 50g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Butter or cooking spray, for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the sliced pears in the baking dish and sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the top.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Add in the flour, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix everything together until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the top of the pears and chocolate.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving suggestions:

Serve the pear and chocolate gratin warm or at room temperature. It would taste great with a scoop of vanilla or caramel ice cream.
