- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
- Brush a baking tray with melted butter and lay the phyllo pastry sheets on top, brushing each layer with melted butter as you go.
- Spread the melted chocolate over the phyllo pastry sheets, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Lay the pears on top of the chocolate, arranging them evenly in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts over the pears, and drizzle with honey.
- Carefully roll the pastry, making sure not to tear it, and tuck the ends under.
- Brush with melted butter, and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Let the strudel cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Verdict:
This Pear and Chocolate Strudel is an indulgent dessert with a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness from the pears and chocolate. The crunch of the hazelnuts and the flakiness of the phyllo pastry make this an irresistible dessert.
