Praline Canoes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 waffle cones

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and pecans. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar melts and turns light brown in color.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and carefully stir in the cream, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Place the saucepan back on the heat and cook the mixture until it reaches 238°F on a candy thermometer.
  5. Remove from heat and spoon the mixture into the waffle cones, filling them up to the brim.
  6. Place the filled cones onto the prepared baking sheet and let them cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, use a serrated knife to trim off any excess praline mixture from the top of the cones.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
