Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, diced into small pieces
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the water, butter, and salt to a simmer. Add the flour and stir vigorously until the dough starts to form a ball and pulls away from the pan. Remove from heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and gradually add them to the dough, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. The mixture should be smooth and shiny.
  4. Pipe or spoon the dough onto the prepared baking sheet into small mounds, leaving at least 2 inches of space between each one.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the profiteroles are golden brown and puffy. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Add powdered sugar and cinnamon, and mix until well combined.
  7. To assemble the profiteroles, cut a small hole in the bottom of each one and pipe in the whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
