Pull apart bread: brioche to peel

Pull Apart Brioche Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, divided
  • 1/2 cup Nutella spread (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir to dissolve and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt until combined. Mix in eggs and 1/2 cup of the room temperature butter. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter.
  5. Divide the risen dough into about 24 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of butter and set aside. If using Nutella, warm it slightly in the microwave to make it more spreadable.
  7. Flatten each ball of dough and spread some melted butter (or Nutella) on top. Stack them on top of each other in the greased loaf pan. Top with any remaining butter.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the bread is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped with a spoon.
  9. Let the bread cool for about 10-15 minutes before pulling it apart and serving.

Verdict:

This Pull Apart Brioche Bread is a perfect treat for breakfast or brunch. It’s rich, buttery, and indulgent. The Nutella filling adds a deliciously sweet twist to this classic bread. Serve it warm with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy!
