Rougail Sausages Recipe
Ingredients:
- 8 sausages
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large tomatoes, finely diced
- 2 tbsp ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp green chili pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the sausages and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
- Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened.
- Add the minced garlic, ginger and green chili pepper and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the diced tomatoes, paprika, cumin powder and turmeric powder and stir well.
- Cook the mixture for 5-6 minutes, or until the tomatoes are softened and the mixture has thickened slightly.
- Return the sausages to the skillet and coat them with the tomato mixture.
- Simmer the mixture for another 5-8 minutes, or until the sausages are cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice or bread, if desired.
