Snowflakes Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 stick of unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, cream the butter until smooth.
- Add the confectioner’s sugar and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt together and slowly add it to the butter mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two halves and shape each into a flat disc. Wrap them in cling film and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour until firm.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Roll out each disc on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 inch. Cut out snowflake shapes with cookie cutters and carefully transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart from each other.
- Bake the snowflakes for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
- Remove from oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve these delicious snowflakes with a dusting of confectioner’s sugar or frosting to your liking.
