Strawberry Sushi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4-6 large strawberries
  • Nori sheets
  • Soy sauce
  • Wasabi paste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the sushi rice thoroughly with cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, add the rinsed rice and water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
  3. While the rice is still hot, transfer it to a large bowl and add rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix thoroughly and set aside to cool.
  4. Cut the strawberries into thin strips and set aside.
  5. Place a sheet of nori on a sushi mat or a clean kitchen towel and spread the sushi rice evenly on top, leaving a 1-inch border on one side.
  6. Place the strawberry strips in the center of the rice, forming a line from one end to the other.
  7. With the help of the mat or towel, roll the sushi tightly, starting from the end with the filling.
  8. Wet the border of the nori sheet with water to seal the sushi roll.
  9. Use a sharp knife to cut the sushi roll into even-sized pieces.
  10. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi paste (optional).
