Stuffed Noodles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package of large shells or lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound of ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups of ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley
  • 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey with onion and garlic.
  3. In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, parmesan cheese, basil, parsley, salt and pepper.
  4. Drain cooked noodles and rinse with cold water to prevent them from sticking together.
  5. Spread a thin layer of pasta sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Fill each noodle with a spoonful of the cheese mixture and a spoonful of the meat mixture. Roll up and place in the baking dish seam side down.
  7. Once all the noodles are filled, pour the rest of the pasta sauce over the top of the noodles.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
