Stuffed Noodles Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 package of large shells or lasagna noodles
- 1 pound of ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups of ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of dried basil
- 1 tablespoon of dried parsley
- 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey with onion and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, parmesan cheese, basil, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Drain cooked noodles and rinse with cold water to prevent them from sticking together.
- Spread a thin layer of pasta sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Fill each noodle with a spoonful of the cheese mixture and a spoonful of the meat mixture. Roll up and place in the baking dish seam side down.
- Once all the noodles are filled, pour the rest of the pasta sauce over the top of the noodles.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
