Recipe: The Candy Apple
Ingredients:
- 6 medium-sized apples
- 2 cups of white sugar
- 1/2 cup of light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Instructions:
- Start by washing and drying the apples. Remove the stems and insert a wooden stick slowly into the center of each apple.
- Prepare a baking sheet or tray by lining it with parchment paper and greasing the paper slightly with some cooking spray.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, food coloring, and cinnamon. Place it over medium heat and stir occasionally.
- Allow the mixture to boil while stirring continuously until it reaches 300°F (149°C).
- Remove the mixture from the heat and dip each apple into it until it’s fully covered. Allow the excess syrup to drip off and place the candy apple onto the prepared baking sheet immediately.
- Repeat the process for all apples.
- Allow the apples to cool and harden for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
- Your candy apples are ready to be served and can be gently removed from the parchment paper on the baking sheet.
Verdict:
These delicious candy apples are perfect for Halloween, parties, or any special occasion. The sweet and sticky flavor of the candy coating perfectly complements the soft, juicy apple inside.
