Torta caprese – Delicious


Torta Caprese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 200g unsalted butter, chopped into pieces
  • 200g almond meal
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Icing sugar, to dust

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced) and line the base of a 20cm round cake tin with baking paper.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, stirring in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  3. Add the almond meal, caster sugar, eggs and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely in the tin before removing it and placing it onto a serving plate.
  7. Dust the top of the cake with icing sugar before serving.
