Vacherin with Candied Chestnuts Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200g Candied Chestnuts
  • 250g Cream
  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 100g Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Vacherin Cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Slowly add the powdered sugar to the stiff egg whites while continually whisking until the mixture is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
  4. Whip the cream and gently fold it into the egg white mixture.
  5. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  6. Cut the top of the Vacherin cheese and hold it inverted for 1 minute to let the liquid out.
  7. Spread half of the cream mixture onto the baking paper-covered tray, creating a circle in the same size as the Vacherin.
  8. Place the Vacherin on top of the cream, and then cover it with the candied chestnuts.
  9. Spread the remaining cream mixture over the candied chestnuts carefully.
  10. Bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and let it cool.
  12. Serve chilled.
