Vegan Milk Breads and Cherry Jam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups soy milk, warmed
  • 6 tbsp vegan margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup cherry jam

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. Add warmed soy milk and melted vegan margarine. Mix until well combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal parts. Roll them into balls and place them in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  7. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool down for 10-15 minutes.
  10. In a small saucepan, heat cherry jam on low-medium heat until it’s melted and smooth.
  11. Serve the bread with cherry jam on the side.
