Vegan Milk Breads and Cherry Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups soy milk, warmed
- 6 tbsp vegan margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup cherry jam
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Add warmed soy milk and melted vegan margarine. Mix until well combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal parts. Roll them into balls and place them in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool down for 10-15 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, heat cherry jam on low-medium heat until it’s melted and smooth.
- Serve the bread with cherry jam on the side.
