Verbena Granita and its Colorful Fruits

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh verbena leaves
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Assorted colorful fruits, like blueberries, strawberries, and kiwis, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Combine verbena leaves and water in a blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Add the sugar to the puree and blend again until it is dissolved.
  3. Strain the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
  4. Every 30 minutes, take the dish out and use a fork to scrape the ice crystals from the edges of the dish, breaking them up.
  5. Continue to do this until the entire mixture is granular and icy, about 2-3 hours.
  6. Serve the granita with the chopped fruits on top.
