Walnut Cookies: Bredele Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in the egg yolk and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and chopped walnuts. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork or the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
