  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cherry preserves
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface into a 12-inch square.
  3. Spread the cherry preserves evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

  9. Brush the egg wash over each slice.
  10. In another small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  11. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the egg-washed slices.
  12. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.
