Cherry Tartlet Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • Sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface. Use a biscuit cutter or a cup to cut out circles of dough about 3 inches (7.5 cm) in diameter.
  3. Place the circles of dough in a muffin tin. Press the dough gently to fit the shape of the muffin cups.
  4. Fill each cup with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash.
  6. Brush the edges of the dough with the egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle the edges with sanding sugar (optional).
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Cool the tartlets in the muffin tin for 5 minutes, then gently remove them and serve.

Verdict:

These cherry tartlets are a sweet and easy dessert. The buttery pie crust pairs perfectly with the tart cherry filling. The sanding sugar adds a crunchy texture to the edges of the tartlets. Serve these with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat!
