Chinese-Style Okinawa Dumplings
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup chopped Napa cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 36 wonton wrappers
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, Napa cabbage, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, sugar, ginger paste and garlic paste.
- Stir the mixture until it is well combined.
- To make the dumplings, take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center.
- Use your fingers to wet the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over the pork mixture to create a half moon shape, and pinch the edges together to seal.
- Repeat this process for the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the dumplings to the skillet and cook until they are browned on the bottom, 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the water into the skillet and quickly cover with a lid.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes, until the dumplings are cooked through and the water has evaporated.

These Chinese-style Okinawa dumplings are a delightful combination of savory pork and Napa cabbage, along with the rich blend of soy sauce and sesame oil. The crispy exterior and the moist filling make for a perfect texture with every bite.
