Chocolate and Orange Log
Ingredients:
- 200g dark chocolate
- 125g unsalted butter
- 110g caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 150g self-raising flour
- 1 orange zest
Method
- Grease a baking tray and preheat the oven at 180°C.
- Melt chocolate with butter in a bowl above a pan of simmering water.
- Whisk in the caster sugar and beat the eggs one by one and continue to whisk until the mixture appears fluffy and thick.
- Stir in the self-raising flour and orange zest until everything is well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the baking tray and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
- Once the cake has finished cooking, turn it out onto a piece of baking parchment. Roll from the narrow end into a log while it’s still hot, but not too firm, using the parchment to help you fold it inwards.
- Allow it to cool and serve in slices, adding a sprinkle of powdered sugar and orange zest to serve.
