Chocolate Cake “The Tasty”

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch baking pans by greasing them lightly and dusting them with flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients and whisk until they are well combined.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the boiling water to the mixture, it should end up being a thin batter.
  5. Pour an even amount of batter into each of the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before removing them from the pans completely.
  8. Lay each cake out flat and let them cool completely before frosting them between layers and decorating as desired.

Serving suggestions:

This cake can be served as is or with added frosting of choice. It goes well with any kind of frosting, be it cream cheese, buttercream, or ganache. It also pairs well with a scoop of vanilla or mint ice cream. This cake is perfect for any occasion, such as birthdays, weddings, or just a simple get-together.
