Chocolate Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 8 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F
- In a bowl, mix together the flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Beat the egg yolks and 1/4 cup of heavy cream and stir the mixture into the flour mixture until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough evenly into a 9-inch tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.
- Over a double boiler, melt the semisweet chocolate and milk chocolate chips together until smooth and then whisk in the heavy cream, sugar, and butter until the mixture is creamy.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled tart shell and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until set.
