Chocolate Tart Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cubed
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 8 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Beat the egg yolks and 1/4 cup of heavy cream and stir the mixture into the flour mixture until the dough comes together.
  4. Press the dough evenly into a 9-inch tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  6. Over a double boiler, melt the semisweet chocolate and milk chocolate chips together until smooth and then whisk in the heavy cream, sugar, and butter until the mixture is creamy.
  7. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled tart shell and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until set.
