Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup chopped pralines

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and dust with flour.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. With mixer on low speed, gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the coffee. Mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in pralines with a spatula.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Add the remaining batter to the bowl and mix in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. Mix until just combined and pour over the first layer of batter.
  7. Using a knife, swirl the two batters together to create the marble effect.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
