Complete Vegetable Broth Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 potato, chopped
- 6 cups of water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- A handful of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the carrots, celery, and potato, and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables start to brown.
- Add the water, salt, black pepper, parsley, and bay leaf into the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer the broth for 45 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes. Strain the broth using a sieve or colander to separate the vegetables from the liquid.
- Your complete vegetable broth is ready to use. You can store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze it for up to 3 months.
