Homemade Donuts: Gourmet Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix together the milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut out the doughnuts using a doughnut cutter.
- Place the cut doughnuts on a floured surface, cover with a towel, and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 365°F (185°C).
- Carefully add the doughnuts to the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the doughnuts from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
