Pear and Cinnamon Tarte Tatin Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 ripe pears, peeled and cored
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the butter and brown sugar in a 10-inch oven-proof skillet on medium-high heat. Stir until melted and combined.
- Place the pears on top of the butter-sugar mixture, cut side down. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of pears. Cook until the mixture starts to bubble and caramelize, about 5 minutes.
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into a circle the size of the skillet. Place the circle of puff pastry on top of the pears and tuck the edges in around the pears.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the skillet to loosen the pastry. Place a large plate over the skillet and invert the skillet onto the plate.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
