Plum cake – Delicious


Plum Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4-5 ripe plums, pitted and sliced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually fold in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Arrange the sliced plums on top of the batter, pressing them down slightly.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Serve the plum cake with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
