Polenta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil.
  2. While whisking continuously, slowly pour the cornmeal into the boiling water.
  3. Reduce heat to low and continue to whisk the mixture for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the saucepan.
  4. Remove the polenta from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic powder (if using).
  5. Once the ingredients are fully incorporated, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Transfer the polenta to a greased dish and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes until set.
  7. Cut the polenta into slices or cubes and serve hot.
