Potato Gateau Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish, overlapping slightly.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Sprinkle half over the potatoes.
  5. Repeat this layering process until all the ingredients are used up.
  6. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Pour the melted butter evenly over the top.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are cooked through.
  11. Let the potato gateau rest for a few minutes before serving.
