Prawns Wrapped in Rice Vermicelli Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 12 large prawns, deveined and cleaned
  • 1 pack of rice vermicelli noodles, soaked and drained
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 12 toothpicks, soaked in water
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Mix the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the cleaned prawns and mix well. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Place a small amount of soaked rice vermicelli on a flat surface. Wrap each prawn in vermicelli and secure with a toothpick. Repeat for remaining prawns.
  3. Heat enough vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the prawns for 2-3 minutes on each side until the vermicelli turns golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove from heat and drain excess oil with a paper towel. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce dipping sauce.
