Puff Pastry Fish with Nutella
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 fillet of white fish (such as cod or haddock)
- 3 tablespoons of Nutella
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Thaw the puff pastry sheet according to the packaging instructions, usually at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Season the fish fillet with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Spread the Nutella on one side of the puff pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Place the fish fillet on top of the Nutella, folding any thin edges to make it fit inside the pastry sheet.
- Brush the beaten egg on the edges of the pastry sheet and fold it over the fish, pressing the edges to seal them together.
- Brush the remaining egg on top of the pastry and make a few slits on the top to let steam escape while baking.
- Bake the puff pastry fish for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffy.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Verdict:
The combination of savory white fish and sweet Nutella inside a crispy and buttery puff pastry is surprisingly delicious. This recipe is easy to make and perfect for a special occasion or a fun twist on a weeknight dinner.
