Roquefort, Pear and Walnut Savory Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200g Roquefort cheese
  • 2 conference pears, peeled, cored and cut into small cubes
  • 100g chopped walnuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 ml whole milk
  • 70ml vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Grease a 20cm round cake tin and line with baking paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.
  4. Add the eggs, milk and vegetable oil and mix until well combined.
  5. Crumble the Roquefort cheese into the bowl, add the chopped walnuts and diced pears and mix everything together until just combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into the cake tin and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown on top and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before removing from the tin and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
