Sesame Foie Gras with Sweet Potato Chutney Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. foie gras, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season the foie gras with salt and pepper and coat with sesame seeds.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, sear the foie gras for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Transfer the foie gras to a baking dish and bake for 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 120°F.

  7. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sweet potato is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 30 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let cool.
