Torta Sbrisolona Recipe
Ingredients:
- 350g all-purpose flour
- 250g granulated sugar
- 250g unsalted butter, softened
- 100g ground almonds
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9-inch (23cm) springform or tart pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground almonds, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Add the softened butter to the mixing bowl and use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add in the egg yolks and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined. The dough will be crumbly, and that’s okay.
- Pour the dough into the lined pan and use your hands or a spatula to press the dough down into a compact layer.
- Bake the torta sbrisolona in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the top is dry and slightly cracked.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
