Youth Roll – Treat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup of cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup of shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup of grated carrots
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sweet chili sauce for dipping

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the cooked chicken, shredded cabbage, grated carrots, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt and pepper until well combined.
  2. Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a flat surface. Spoon a tablespoon of the filling mixture and shape it into a log shape. Fold both ends of the wrapper towards the center and roll it up tightly.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Once the oil is hot, add the spring rolls in batches and fry until golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess oil.
  4. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
