Dried Meat Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb dried meat
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, combine the dried meat and water.
  2. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  3. Remove the meat from the pot and set it aside to cool.
  4. While the meat is cooling, add the onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and black pepper to the broth.
  5. Bring the broth back to a simmer and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. Once the meat has cooled, shred it into bite-sized pieces and add it back to the pot.
  7. Simmer the soup for an additional 10 to 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Remove the bay leaves and discard them.
  9. Serve the soup hot and enjoy!
