Fonio steamed with morels Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Fonio grains
- 2 cups Water
- 1/2 cup Dried morels
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 3 Garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 cup White wine
Instructions:
- In a pot, add Fonio grains and 2 cups of water.
- Cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for another 5 minutes.
- Take a large skillet and melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, saute until softened.
- Add soaked dried morels, salt, and black pepper.
- Saute for 3-4 minutes more.
- Pour wine over mixture and bring it to boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked Fonio grains and mix well with the morels.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and steam for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
