Ingredients

  • 150g plain flour
  • 100g butter
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 200ml water
  • 150g Reblochon cheese, cut into small pieces
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place the butter and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the butter has melted.
  3. Sift the flour, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the flour mixture. Stir until it forms a dough.
  5. Add the eggs to the mixture, one at a time, stirring after each addition. Stir well until you have a smooth paste.
  6. Add the Reblochon cheese and stir well.
  7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Use a spoon or a pastry bag to form small mounds of the dough on the tray.
  8. Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the Gougères are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool down on a wire rack before serving.
